West Yorkshire Police are offering a free 1.5‑hour Safer Driving Session in Bradford in support of the Vision Zero initiative. The session is open to local residents, drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, and is designed to help the community understand key road safety measures. It is intended to be interactive, engaging and informative for all participants.

The programme is divided into sections that address common road safety concerns in Bradford, including issues around anti‑social vehicle use in both urban and suburban areas. Throughout the session, attendees will be shown statistics, given practical safety tips and encouraged to take part in discussions aimed at promoting safer behaviour on the roads.

The session covers five main topics. Participants will be introduced to the principles of Vision Zero and its goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries. They will look at road safety challenges in West Yorkshire and identify the key risks and factors that contribute to incidents in the region. The session also includes analysis of local data and trends to help attendees understand how Vision Zero policies aim to improve safety. In addition, the programme explores solutions and strategies such as infrastructure, enforcement, education and policy changes designed to reduce accidents. It concludes with a focus on how individuals and communities can promote safer road use and support the aims of Vision Zero.

This in‑person event will take place at Javelin House Police Station, Javelin Close, Bradford BD10 8SD. Attendees should note that the training room has no disability access; it is located on the second floor and can be reached only via steps. Participants are asked to arrive 10–15 minutes before the start time to allow for a prompt start, and a team member will meet attendees at the front door to provide access.
